She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Fellers and Dorothy Fellers (Turner); and her sisters, Barbara Jean McCartney, Delores Landers, Grace Gillett and Rowena Coon.

She is survived by: her husband Jimmy Proxmire; her children, Jimmy Proxmire, Jr. (Julie) of Paulding, OH, Joseph Proxmire of Defiance, OH and Wendy Griner of Garrett, IN; her grandchildren, Valerie Bany, Vanessa Doris, Jimmy Proxmire III, Jamie Lee Proxmire, Avrial Sawyer and Sam Proxmire; and her great grandchildren, Nathanial, Zeplyn, Oliver, Otto and Opal.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Darlene in care of her husband, Jimmy Proxmire.
