She was predeceased by: her father Herman Sr. Arend; her husband Robert C. Thornell; her son Thomas Thornell; her daughter-in-law Diane Thornell; her siblings, Russel Arend, Herman Arend Jr. and Donna Dean Proxmire; and her great grandchild Jessica Thornell.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Thornell (Jody) of Defiance, OH, Larry Thornell (Cathy) of Paulding, OH and Janet Miller (Dennis) of Grover Hill, OH; and her siblings, Ivan Arend (Patricia) of Paulding, OH and Helen Sauber of Defiance, OH. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
