He was predeceased by: his significant other Kay Lyons Smith; his sons, Paul Matthew Smith and Wesley Edward Smith; his parents, Emmett Smith, and Faette Yvonne Smith, Jr.; his brother James Ogle Smith, Sr.; and his nephews, James Ogle Smith Jr. and Joshua Todd Slyh.
He is survived by: his siblings, Renee Slyh (Jeff) of Pataskala and Keith Smith (Teri) of Florida; his stepson Michael Lyons (Tish) of Zanesville; his stepgrandchildren, Galen Lyons, Jaden Lyons, Kayleb Lyons and Sammy Lyons; and his nephews, P. J. Bowen, Christopher Smith, Andrew Slyh (Malinda) and Caleb Slyh (Kayla).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Christ United Methodist Church, 700 S. Main St., Baltimore, Ohio 43105.
