She was predeceased by: her son Doug Hofmann; and her cousins, Doris Johnson (Robert) and Kay Johnson Susil. She is survived by: her husband Robert B. Thornton; her daughter Paula Hofmann; her granddaughter Jenifer Owens-Morrison; and her son-in-law Mark Morrison. She is also survived by children, numerous other cousins, and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society in your area or the ASPCA in her memory.
