Visiting with Joe this past year here in the Cleveland area brought back so many memories and made me realize that friendships like ours are forever. “I had the honor of serving with Joe in D Company, 1st Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment in Vietnam. He was an incredibly brave trooper who rose to greatness during some very intense battles, never flinching in the face of terrible adversity. He is one of my heroes and the epitome of a Blackhorse tanker. He was also a kind and loving man and will be missed by his friends and brother troopers. I will carry the memory of him in my heart until we meet again in Fiddler's Green. Allons!”
