He was predeceased by: his wife Joan; his son John Costa, Jr.; and his sister Nancy Kowallek (James). He is survived by: his children, Sharon Ratica (Robert), Karen Rundo (Kenneth) and Michael Costa; his grandsons, Jason Ratica, Daniel Ratica and Kenny Rundo (Lindsay); and his siblings, Angelina Kondash (late Steve) and Robert "Butch" Costa (late Sally).
