He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Mary Lou Simon (Loughead) and Gordon Henry Simon; his children, Mark, Lee Jay Simon, Jack Edward Simon and Thomas Scott Simon; and his daughter-in-law Emily Simon (Zeller). He was also cherished by 15 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers or other donations, Scott's family has established a GoFundMe (https://gofund.me) to help provide some relief from Scott's end of life medical and other expenses.
