He was predeceased by: his father Aloysius Bir; and his stepfathers, Ronald Cochrac and Richard Beaudin. He is survived by: his wife Marie; his children, Rebecca Bir Hall (Jaclyn) and Thomas Bir; his grandchildren, Alexander, Emily and Gabriel; his mother Mary Ann Cochrac; his siblings, Lisa Ponyik (Joseph) and Vincent Bir (Kim); his sister-in-law Josephine Jindra (John); and his close friend John Riley (Sherry).
