He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Elston and Helen Ruth Barger (O'Dell); his brothers, John and Keith Barger; and his stepbrother Ron Fenton.

He is survived by: his wife Julie Barger (Fox); his daughter Samantha Barger of St. Paris; and his sister Marsha Baillie. He is also survived by many friends and extended family.
