He was predeceased by: his parents, George Shoemaker and Naomi Shoemaker (Crawford); his son Kent Shoemaker; and his siblings, Ralph Shoemaker, Ruth Williams and Esther Luginbuhl.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Shoemaker of Pandora; his children, Karla Westall (Dave) of Lima and James Shoemaker (Sharon) of Bluffton; his granddaughter Kendra Lugibihl (Matt); his stepgrandchildren, Aaron Schmutz (Melody), Jessica Robinson, Jonica Schmutz, Heidi Waldock (Bryan), Drew Westall (Michelle) and Shauna Welch (Derek); and his sister Marilyn Beckler of Bluffton. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren.
