He was predeceased by: his parents, John Shimek and Marietta Shimek (Hauser); his wife Norma Jean Shimek; his son Timothy Allen Shimek; his siblings, John Shimek, James Shimek, Albert Shimek, Martha Shimek and Marie Shimek; and his grandchildren, Ryan Shimek and Jason May.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Dale Shimek (Barb Huntington) of Painesville, Theresa Ann Hare (Charles) of Willoughby Hills and Deborah Sue Shimek (Jay Storm) of Painesville; and his brother Paul Shimek (Janet). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his name to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17865 St. Clair Ave, Cleveland, Ohio 44110.
