She was predeceased by: her sons, Tommy Jr. (Mattie) of Jacksonville, Florida, Billy (Dorothy) of Jonesboro and Herschell Sr. (Bettye) of Jacksonville, Florida.. She is survived by: her son James Smith (Louise) of Painesville, Ohio; her daughters-in-law, Louise Smith, Dorothy Banks, Mattie Dunbar and Bettye Banks; her grandchildren, Cathy Smith-Hussain, Elisa Smith-Sanchez (Paul), Jeffery Smith of Painesville, Ohio, Lisa Banks-Lyles (Troy), Rhonda Banks-Ashley (Marcus), Raheem Anderson (Shannon) of California, Herschell Banks, LaVonda Richardson, Darlene Gamble of Washington, D. C., Regina Bodison (Ralph), Anthony Burch of Jacksonville and Yvonne Pat Johnson of Painesville, Ohio.; her nieces, Laura Walker of Painesville, Beverly Johnson of Jacksonville and Ann Richardson of Atlanta, Georgia; her godson John Hibbert of Canada; and her friends, Bertha Richardson and Christine Dawson. She is also survived by loving nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews, great great nieces/nephews and great great great nieces/nephews.
Although the facility was not permitting visitors due to Covid-19, she was thrilled when they allowed unlimited daily visiting with her family for over a month.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care at 8224 Mentor Avenue in Mentor, Ohio.
