She was predeceased by: her husband David Smead; and her son Rodney McGrew. She is survived by: her children, Connie Torkar (Bob), Marianne Savarda (James) of Colorado, David Smead of Tennessee and Dan Smead (Diana) of Tennessee. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
