He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Gridiron, Sr. and Addie Lewis; his siblings, Edward Lewis, Raymond Gridiron Jr., John Henry Lewis, Emiziah Lewis Jr., Willie Long and Dorothy Cansler; and his grandson Iwayne Hobsoni (late Viola Gridiron).
He is survived by: his wife Marsha Lockridge; and his siblings, Walter Lewis, Mary Livingston, Kathleen Lewis, Virginia Peeples and Lawrence Lewis. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
