Flora Opal Fortney Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Flora Opal Fortney of Oxford, Ohio, who passed away on November 19, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Flora farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Flora is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Enevoldsen and Susan Opal Enevoldsen. She is survived by: her children, Rebecca Jonas (Matthew) of Farmersville, TX, Susan Fortney-Harlan (John) of Oxford, OH and David Fortney (Cheryl) of Sidney, OH; and her brother George Enevoldsen (Laura) of Athens, OH.. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Oxford United Methodist Church (14 N Poplar St, Oxford, OH 45056). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either the Oxford United Methodist Church or McCullough-Hyde Foundation.
