She was predeceased by: her husband Elijah J. Franklin; and her brother Joseph Rogers. She is survived by: her son Kenneth Lawrence Richards; her goddaughter Sonya Brown Hillary; and her siblings, Freddie Rogers (Bettye), Helen Rogers, Charles Rogers (Queen) and Pearlie Bowden (Gillis). She is also survived by many other close friends and relatives.
