He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Brate and Laura Brate (Kehr); his father-in-law Edwin Zorn; his stepfather-in-law Robert Farst; and his sister Shirley (Charles Kaelin).
He is survived by: his wife Connie; his daughters, Michelle Hoffman (Andrew) and Linda Kirchhoff (Austin); his grandchildren, Avery, Owen, Will Hoffman, Blaire, Harper and Sydney Kirchhoff; his mother-in-law Beverly Zorn Farst; his siblings, Patricia Burger (Ken) and Arthur Brate (Annelle); and his extended family, Pam Kleine (Charles), Joan Mason (Barry), Lynn Korb (Jeff) and Ava Farst. He is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
