He was predeceased by: his father Edmund Schimmoeller; his wife Helen Reindl; his siblings, Arthur Schimmoeller (Delores) and Doris Ann Honigfort (Hank); and his brother-in-law Dave Stechschulte.

He is survived by: his sons, Dale Schimmoeller (Lisa) of Miller City and Darren Schimmoeller (Julie) of Ottoville; his grandchildren, Derek Schimmoeller (Rebecca), Luke Schimmoeller (Amy), Elizabeth Kaufman (Ross), Jacob Schimmoeller (Kylie White), Andy Schimmoeller and Hannah Schimmoeller; his great grandchild Jameison Schimmoeller; and his siblings, Roger Schimmoeller (Catty) of Ottoville, Mary Lou Stechschulte of Columbus Grove and Ruth Lucke of Fort Jennings.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ottoville Immaculate Conception Church or Putnam County Homecare and Hospice.
