Hovest, Jr. of Ottawa; his grandchildren, Isabella Horvath and Everett Rippetoe; his siblings, Edward Hovest (Ann) of Ottawa, Linda Hovest-Bloomfield of Lima, Jane Hovest of Celina, Charles Hovest (Karen) of Leipsic, Daniel Hovest (Cindy) of Ottawa, Richard A. Hovest (Terry) of Ottawa, William Hovest (Deb) of Gilboa and Mark Hovest (Jill) of Pandora; and his sister-in-law Marcia Hovest of Leipsic.
