It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard F. Birkemeier of Ottawa, Ohio, born in Lima, Ohio, who passed away on October 2, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Birkemeier and Elizabeth Birkemeier (Otto); his wife Doris A. Seimet; and his granddaughter Amber Foppe. He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa Dulaney (Thomas) of Virginia Beach, VA., Lori Recker (Scott) of Kalida and Lana Foppe (Dean) of Glandorf; his grandchildren, Alisha Dulaney, Jacob Dulaney, Brianna Osterhage (Kristopher), Kiersten Nuveman (Bradley), Brayden Recker (Clara Elkins), Justin Foppe (Kailyn Sapienza), Austin Foppe (Hope Nixon) and Camryn Foppe; his great grandchild Kade Osterhage; and his siblings, Joann Langhals (Don) of Columbus Grove, Larry Birkemeier (Kathy) of Defiance and Dorothy Schroeder (Frank) of Kalida.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Putnam County Council on Aging.
