He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Gerdeman and Regina Gerdeman (Inkrott); his siblings, Linus Gerdeman, Edna Keeterle (John), Agnes Scheckelhoff (Floyd) and Ruth Gerdeman; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Keeterle (Baker).
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Laudick-Schroeder; his children, Gerri Hempfling (Mark) of Ottawa, Gina Fortman (Dave) of Cincinnati and Dean Gerdeman (Lisa) of Cincinnati; his stepchildren, Julie Place (Amos) of Glandorf and Scott Schroeder (Barb) of Ottawa; and his in-laws, Rosie Gerdeman (Otto) and Dolores Hoffman (Dick).
Memorial donations may be made to St. John the Baptist, Glandorf Maintenance Fund or Cemetery Fund, Bridge Hospice, Findlay or The Meadows of Ottawa for special equipment.
