He was predeceased by : his parents, Carl Bowens and Delcie Bowens (Chapman); and his siblings, Kermit, Willie, Evelyn, Vada and Mae.

He is survived by : his wife Joyce Bowens of Ostrander, Ohio; his children, Orville Bowens (Linda) of Raleigh, Betty Kendrick (Eddie) of Ostrander and Pat McIntire (Richard) of Richwood, Ohio; and his siblings-in-law, Joan Bowens of Kentucky, Marcella Crum of Kentucky, Glenedith Spurlock of West Virginia, Clina Hall of Kentucky, Gilbert Myers of Virginia and Bill Perry of West Virginia. He is also survived by six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 6th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Robinson Funeral Home (32 W Winter St, Delaware, OH 43015). A funeral service was held on Thursday, June 6th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
