He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Harry and Bertha Mildred Short (Schmidt); and his siblings, Ronald, Sonny, Timothy and Roxanne.
He is survived by: his wife Helen (Seimet); his sons, Buddy Short (Marie) and Michael Short (Beth); his grandchildren, David Short (Amy Lapp), Dennis Short (Libbey Jaeblon), Caleb Short, Nina Short and Daniel Short; and his siblings, Forest Short (Jeanine), Caroline Short and Mary Short. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
