He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Bassler and Udella Bassler (Goodwin); his wife Wanda Bassler (Erwin); his siblings, Harold Bassler and Evelyn Cooper; and his siblings-in-law, Opal Price Galvin, Catherine Grater, Irene Bassler, Wayne Price, Dave Grater, Roy Hayes, Richard Furrer, Eugene Erwin, Al Cardonick and George Cooper.
He is survived by: his children, Pam Baldwin (Bob), Mike Bassler and Randy Bassler; his grandchildren, Jessica Sroga, Joselyn Bassler, Zachary Baldwin, Tyler Baldwin and Jordan Bassler; and his sisters-in-law, JoAnn Hayes, Mary Lou Furrer and Berneice Cardonick. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
