He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Zargo and Margaret Zargo of Toledo; his parents-in-law, Lester and Helen Christian; his sisters, Marge Morgenstern (Bill) and Toot Morgenstern (Bud); his grandson Joseph Veitch; his brothers-in-law, Daniel Christian and Richard Lester; and his nephew Tim Morgenstern.

He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Joe Zargo, Jacqueline Burkhardt (Todd), Jennifer Thorbahn (Keith) and Lori Pepper (Dennis); his grandson William Berry (Krystin); his children, Nick Thorbahn, Jacob Veitch, Joshua Veitch, Jill Thorbahn, JJ Thorbahn, Daniel Murray (Katie) and Theresa Burkhardt; and his great grandchildren, Porter Murray and Bridget Berry.

Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home (440 S Coy Rd, Oregon, OH 43616). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel (440 S Coy Rd, Oregon, OH 43616). A burial was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at the Lake Township Cemetery (3550 Walbridge Rd, Millbury, OH 43447).
