He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Ernest and Nellie Ellis (Kaptina); his brother Drew Smith; and his cousin Jim Ellis. He is survived by: his wife Eileen; his children, Mark "Bubba" Ellis (Debbie), Lynn Spicer (Matthew), Scott Ellis, Mindy Miller (Jerry) and Jeff Ellis (Jada); his former wife Sandi Bailey (Hibbits); and his sisters, Camille Rawlings and Melinda Jo Ellis (Terry Patchen). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
