He was predeceased by: his parents, George Edward and Ruth Gertrude Schwaegerle; his wife Ruth Cecilia Schwaegerle; and his siblings, Paul Robert and Jean Annette Geist.

He is survived by: his son Kent Edward Schwaegerle; his daughter-in-law Ruth Amy Stafford of San Diego; and his sister-in-law Cate Schwaegerle.
