He was predeceased by: his parents, Pearl Bowman Shoemaker and Martin Marietta; his stepfather Eugene Lundy; and his siblings, Thelma Shoemaker, Carl Shoemaker, Frank Lundy, Roy Lundy, Tommy Lundy and Gary Lundy.
He is survived by: his children, Stewart Matthew Shoemaker (Brooke), Tammy Faye Shoemaker and Patty Chapman (Jeanie); his grandchildren, David Walk (Kristenia), Bobby Chapman, Jesse Chapman (Tiffany), Logan Hines and Landon Hines; his great grandchildren, Alexandria Jade Walk, Conner Lee Walk and Maddison Paige Chapman; his siblings, Larry Lundy, Paul Lundy and Ruth Willis; and his close friend Robin Ray.
