She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore and Ball (Turner) of Nevada; her husband Carey Newman; her daughter Susan Newman; and her brothers, Harold Cartwright, Raymond Cartwright, Charles Cartwright and Teddy Ball.
She is survived by: her children, Derek Newman of Oak Hill, Ohio, Dwain Newman of Oak Hill, Ohio and Lisa Newman of Oak Hill, Ohio; her grandchildren, Dustin Newman (Chasity) of Oak Hill, Tiffany King (Bill) of Oak Hill and Mara Newman; and her sister Ellen Layne. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
