He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Riepenhoff and Ellen Riepenhoff (Curry); his wife Elizabeth Ann "Becky" Riepenhoff (Skidmore); his sister Mary Lou Michael; his brothers-in-law, Fred Michael and Bobby Ratliff; and also Jamiton "Jamie" E. McGrath.

He is survived by: his brothers, Charles A. Riepenhoff, Jr. (Susan) and James P. Riepenhoff (Ann); his children, Arthur Riepenhoff (Edgar Reyes), Dorothy Lloyd (Dallas), Joseph Riepenhoff (Molly) and David Riepenhoff (Emily); his stepson Christopher Skidmore (Amy); his siblings-in-law, Penny Ratliff, Peggy McCarley (David) and James P. Skidmore (Robin); his close friend Don Hill; and his grandchildren, Hunter Riepenhoff, Lauren Riepenhoff, Mason Skidmore, Ethan Riepenhoff, Reagan Skidmore, Catherine Riepenhoff, William Riepenhoff, Amelia Riepenhoff and Elizabeth Riepenhoff.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jay's memory to the Jackson County 4-H Endowment Fund.
