He was predeceased by: his father Elmer Leo Carpenter. He is survived by: his mother Virginia Carpenter (Rue); his wife Penny Carpenter (Bowen); his children, Michael Carpenter (Amanda) of Gallipolis and Lora Thornton (Jeremy) of Patriot; his grandchildren, Destiny, Cameron Carpenter, Braden, Nathan and Olivia Thornton; and his siblings, Jim Carpenter (Kyla) of Gallipolis, Lorie Smith (Glenn) of Eure and Melissa Carpenter of Patriot. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many, many friends.
