He was predeceased by: his parents, William Howell and Luella "Marie" Howell (Brady); his former wife Constance "Connie" Howell (McCain); his son Jeff Howell; and his brothers, Bobbie, William "Billy", Ronnie and Dennie Howell.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Howell; his children, John Howell of Oak Hill, Debbie Moore of Oak Hill, Kimberly Blasczyk (Mike) of Parkville, Missouri and Heidi (Ken Pafford) of Georgetown, Kentucky; his stepchildren, Paula Compton (Jerry) of Beaver, Gloria Jones (Bob) of Kettering, Evelyn Crawford of Chillicothe, William Killen of Beaver, Eddie Killen of Lucasville and Donna Copley of Piketon, Ohio; and his sister Sharon Hughes (Alan). He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
