He was predeceased by: his parents, Herb Simpson Sr. and Norma Jean Simpson (Kiser); his siblings, James Vernon, Charles Vernon, Robert, Michael Simpson and Teresa Simpson; and his brothers-in-law, Dean Johnson and Larry Hightower.
He is survived by: his sons, Michael Simpson (Laura) of Portsmouth, Chris Simpson and Scott Simpson (Tracy) of Oak Hill; and his siblings, Herb Simpson (Linda) of Oak Hill, Fred Simpson (Shirley) of Oak Hill, Tim Simpson (Lorie) of Oak Hill, Pamela Johnson of Oak Hill, Patti Hightower of Oak Hill and Virginia Vernon of Ashville. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
