It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Eugene Nelson of Oak Hill, Ohio, born in Greenup, Kentucky, who passed away on January 19, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Nelson and Mary Nelson (Penix); his wife Janet Lewis Nelson; his daughter Phyllis Nelson Sparks; and his siblings, Edward Nelson and Garnet Ayers.
He is survived by: his children, David (Ann Nelson) of Oak Hill and Susan Brown (Dan) of South Shore, KY; his stepchildren, Paul Whitt of Columbus and Jayne Whitt of Sciotoville; his grandchildren, Kim Finley (Steve), Chris Hutchinson, Maria Bartels (Henry), Michael Nelson (Kelli), Mark Nelson (Kendall), Matthew Sparks and Becky Dodson; and his stepgrandson Ian Whitt. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great- grandchild.
