He was predeceased by: his parents, James Walter "Bud" and Nora Viola Whitt (Brofford); his siblings, Francis Pearl Brock (Bill), Bonnie Juanita Freeland (Whitt), Geneva Carole Cooper (Turley), Elizabeth Whitt and Robert Lee "Bob" Whitt; his sister-in-law Shirley Whitt (Davis); and his nephews, David Freeland and Christopher Whitt.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Whitt (Bowles); his daughters, Lisa Jones (Darrin) and Bridget Lodwick; and his grandchildren, Derek Jones, Austin, Mikayla and Brianna Lodwick. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
