He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee and Odessa Martha Harder, Sr. (Knopp); his nephew Troy Thomas Dewitz; and his grandparents, Ernest, Lizzie Knopp (Schultz), Henry and Mildred Harder (Brough).
He is survived by: his wife Betty Kay Rounds; his children, Beth Ann Biggert (Rodney) and Brian Harder (Melissa); his grandchildren, Robert and Rylie Harder; his sister Candee Dewitz (Tom); his nephew Tony Dewitz (Jill); and his aunt Corabelle Kajando.
