He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Wears and Joyce E. Wears (Fryman); and his wife Betty Jo Perry. He is survived by: his children, Melissa Wears of Oak Harbor and Kenneth B. Wears (Melissa) of Port Clinton; his grandchildren, Tally Newman and Tabitha Cutcher; and his siblings, Karen Hatt (Henry), Judy Ranzenberger, Dwane Wears (Angie) of Florida and Ronnie Wears (Charlotte) of Fremont. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions in Kenneth's memory may be given in care of the family or to the Ottawa County Veteran's Administration.
