It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bruce Mapes of Nova, Ohio, born in Omaha, Nebraska, who passed away on November 9, 2021, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Charles Mapes. He is survived by: his mother Shirley Mapes (Gilbert); his wife Penny; his children, Brendan Mapes and Lindsay Mapes; his sister Lisa J. King; his nephews, Jason Mapes (Andrea), Logan Estep (Jessi) and Cameron Estep (Aly); his niece Jasmine King (Matt); his grandmother Katherine Gilbert; and his sister-in-law Tracy Estep (Rod). He is also survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CJ3 Foundation, University of Nebraska Lincoln Alumni Association or Savannah United Methodist Church.
