He was predeceased by: his son William Michael Stafford; and his siblings, Evie, Grady, Forest, Cecil, Iola and Edna.
He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey L. Stafford (Kristine), Debra Clements, Gregory Allen Stafford (Karol), Kimberly Stafford (Stephen Costello) and Shannon Wetherbee; his sister June Ann Ward; and also Louvenia Stafford. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
