He is survived by: his children, Joe William Smith Jr., Bryan Smith and Sheila Menefee; his grandchildren, Charity Lynn Hicks, Tristan Menefee, Chloe Smith and Meadow Smith; and his siblings, Linda Haines, Tina Miller, Terry Smith and Patricia Secor. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
