He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Ruffing and Elizabeth Ruffing (Simon); and his siblings, Jeannette Daniels, Charles Ruffing and Arnold Ruffing.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn A. Ruffing (Bruner); his children, Kevin Ruffing (Ann) of Ormond Beach, FL, Kathie Chapman of Norwalk and Kimberly Anderson of Bedford, Indiana; his grandchildren, Rebecca Ruffing, Emily Ruffing, Cassandra DeLuca (Tom), Andrew Roeder (Kaleigh), Kaitlynn Webb, Christian Anderson, Cameron Anderson and Caullin Anderson; his great grandchildren, Gracelynn Roeder, Deegan Roeder, Gianna DeLuca and Maria DeLuca; and his sister Theresa Wilhelm of Norwalk. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
