He was predeceased by: his parents, Mervin D. Zeiter and Helen M. Martin Zeiter (Martin-Zeiter); his stepmother Lucile Zeiter; his sister Mary Ann Simons; his stepbrother Robert Zeiter; and his grandchildren, Timothy Buck, Jr. and Natasha Marie Salyer.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Sommers; his children, Mark Zeiter (Deborah) of New London, Steven Zeiter (Lisa) of Norwalk, Teresa VanBrandt (Timothy) of Ottawa Lake, Richard Maxwell Zeiter (Holly) of Farmsville, Virginia, Gary Salyer Zeiter (JoAnn) of Little Hocking, Ohio and Deborah (Timothy); his grandchildren, Brittany Weeks (Adam), Nicholas (Tara), Heather, Sydney, Austin, Shelby Zeiter, Trevor, Joshua Myers, Mason VanBrandt, Jessica Talbott and Brian Buck; and his great grandchildren, Mia, Nolan Weeks and Allyson Lockhart.
