He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Edward and Ida McGuire (Miller); and his son Gregory McGuire. He is survived by: his wife Joyce "Deb" McGuire (Pierce); his children, Cheryl Kirk (Eric), Theresa Temple (Todd), John McGuire (Beth) and Marsha McGuire; his grandchildren, Jacqueline, Joseph Graziani, Taylor Temple (Stephanie), Tyler Temple, Justice McGuire (Kamri), Ireland Kuhn (Chris), Mason, Jillian McGuire, Chris Kirk (Hayley) and Jenny Levy (Scott); and his great grandchildren, Bentley Evans, Lucy, Lucas Temple and Jacob Levy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (429 Central Ave, Sandusky, OH 44870). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
