He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Schaffer and Frances Schaffer (Hohler); his wife Margaret Schaffer (Seitz); his daughter Connie Tracht; and his sister Sister Francis Marie "Lucy" Schaffer.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Schaffer (Connie) of Irving, TX, Daniel Schaffer (Rhonda) of Novi, MI and Andrea Tien (Steve) of Southport, NC; his brother Alex Schaffer of Norwalk, OH; and his son-in-law Thomas Tracht (Paula) of Norwalk, OH.. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
