He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Sr. Brant and Delores Brant (Frantz); his stepmother Susan Brant; his brother Douglas Brant Jr.; his grandson David France Jr.; and his great grandchild Bentley.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon "Kay" Brant; his children, James Brant Jr., Jamie Brant, Jonathon Brant (Amber), Michelle Jenkins (John), Christine Gilbert (Jeramy), Amy Warnick (Kurt), Deborah France and Susan Sokolowski; and his siblings, Larry (Denise), Alvin (Kathy), Robert (Cathy), Daniel "Jake", Steven "Toby", Walter Brant, Kenneth Ekleberry, Linda Sanders, Ruby Blackwell (Glenn), April Brant and Laura Brant. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
