He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton J. Hire and Edith Lucille Hire (Kuns); his wife Barbara J. Hire (Archer); and his siblings, Dean Hire, David Hire, Eugene Hire and Faye Monk.
He is survived by: his children, C. Michael Hire (Rhonda) of Canal Winchester, Ohio, Diane K. Hire of Norwalk, Steve M. Hire (Heather) of Berlin Heights and Stanton G. Hire (Nancy) of Lewis Center, Ohio; his siblings, Clarice Moyer of Sturgis and Daniel Hire of Bellevue; and his sister-in-law Deborah Hire of Castalia. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and several great grand children.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association; a Breast Cancer Awareness Charity; or Stein Hospice.
