He was predeceased by: his father Leon Ackerman; and his sister Phyllis Lester. He is survived by: his wife Joan Ackerman (O'Dell); his children, Mike Ackerman (Diane) of Bellevue, Ken Ackerman (Tina) of Gulf Port, MS, Jennifer Ackerman (Ron) of Valparaiso, IN, Mark Pleasnick (Renee) of Columbus and Christine Pleasnick of Norwalk; his grandchildren, Brian (Tia), Scott (Shannon), Luke, Kate, Amber, Melissa, Miriam and Mary; his great grandchildren, Jake, Cole and Ernie; and his brothers, Jim Ackerman (Jan) of Gainesville, FL and Terry Ackerman of Columbus.
