He was predeceased by: his son Eric Simpson; his mother Wanda Allen; his stepfather Bernard Allen; and his siblings, Bobby Whitby and Julia Lustig.

He is survived by: his wife Bernice; his children, April Jewett (Mike), Kathy Supple (Jonny), Carol Denton (Jerome), Kenny Waid (Dinah), Kim Elfrink (Rick) and Karen Elfrink; his grandchildren, Hunter, Chase Jewett, Morgan, Hannah, Gavin Supple, Katrina, Kevin, Kacie, Christopher Elfrink, Brice Denton, Jeannie Gearin (Chris), Sona, Kenny Waid and Melissa Belkey (Dave); and his siblings, Brenda Santos, Mike (Candy), Eddie Whitby (Molly) and Bernie Allen (Jennifer). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
