He was predeceased by: his parents, Ward Ingersoll and Irene Ingersoll (Getz); his wife Martha "Marti" Ingersoll; his daughter Deborah Ingersoll; and his sister Beverly Goehler.
He is survived by: his children, James Ingersoll Jr. (Janet), Lisa Hasenyager (Robert) and Steven Ingersoll (Jamie); his grandchildren, Tadd (Amanda), Emily (Noah), Jessica, Orin (Sierra), Sara, Zachary, Roger, Ashley, Fredrick, Alyssa (Christopher), Mark (Beth), Christopher (Angela) and Jill; his great grandchildren, Carmen, Aiden, Bella, Lexi and Ava; his close friend Sally Heckelman; and his sister Diana Brooks.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bacher-Moore Funeral Home (3250 Greenwich Rd, Norton, OH 44203). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Church, 2445 S. Arlington Rd., Akron, OH 44319, in memory of James E. Ingersoll Sr.
