He was predeceased by: his wife Michiyo; his sisters-in-law, Ruth Wintermyer and Ann Wintermyer; and his father Mark Sarniewicz (Carmelita). He is survived by: his children, Wanda Schartman (Darel), Irene Wintermyer, Cathy Bacher (Eric), John Wintermyer (Antoinette), Barbara Karayan (Phil) and Sandra Boggs; his grandchildren, Jodi Modica (Ryan), Melissa Downey (Ian), Donald Schartman (April), David Wintermyer, Joshua Wintermyer, Daniel Boggs, Abigale Bacher and Hannah Karayan; his great grandchildren, Tyler Cehelnik and Noah Schartman; his brothers, Robert Wintermyer and Edwin Wintermyer (Norma); his niece Brenda (Scott); his nephew Carl (Amy); and his sister Carol Wintermyer.
